Custom 14×16 Home Office-She Shed in Pembroke, MA

Our client, Jan Goodman, runs a successful interior/exterior landscaping business, Boston Cityscapes, and was outgrowing the busy home office space inside her Pembroke home. Jan figured the best option was to expand her home’s workspace and move it out into her beautiful backyard. She visited our Hanover Design Center to share her vision and discuss the various ways she planned to use a home office studio.

We then visited Jan’s property to examine the available space and consider the best options for accomplishing her goals. After a process of mutual collaboration, we were then ready to recommended a custom 14×16 Trestle Shed as the ideal option to serve as her new home office. As an added bonus, the structure also would be a terrific place to host small gatherings and just hang out with her girlfriends!

Jan’s shed includes many details to match her home’s exterior design like custom-shaped window frames, crank out skylights, window boxes and decorative light fixtures. Being a talented interior designer, Jan shared many inspirations we were able to use in creating the custom-painted shiplap back wall.

For additional storage space, the shed includes a 7×14 loft that Jan converted into a cozy sleep loft. We added a complete electrical package to power and light her backyard home office. Jan then added a split HVAC system that keeps the shed’s interior temperature comfortable year-round!

Jan decorated the interior space to match her personal style and is thrilled to use her beautiful new home office/she-shed for hosting fun gatherings with her family & friends! In addition, she is also using the space to teach gardening skills to friends & neighbors from her community.
