Custom 12×30 Greenhouse for Ranney School in Tinton Falls, NJ

Ranney School, located in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, is situated on a sprawling campus of over 60 acres with 900 enrolled students. The private learning academy committed to high academic standards shares this inspiring message on their website: “We know and value every child to inspire and challenge our students to reach their highest personal potential at every stage of their educational journey”. Ranney’s faculty was looking for a greenhouse sufficient to accommodate the school’s expanding outdoor education program and complement its community garden learning area. The school’s operations director worked with Outdoor Personia on designing a structure that would provide an outdoor environment for students to learn through experimentation, research, data collection, and irrigation design. Our design consultant collaborated on a variety of options then ultimately proposed a Haven Custom 12×30 Greenhouse with all the features sufficient to make this dream outdoor classroom a reality.

The greenhouse has many unique features that met the expectations of the school’s faculty. Our team built custom cabinetry and work benches that adjust to the various heights of students. Electric fans and tilt-out vents provide ample ventilation for growing in a variety of climates. The structure’s metal trim was carefully painted to match Ranney’s school colors. Outdoor Personia handled all the necessary permits, site preparation, and delivered the large greenhouse fully built and ready for the students on the next stage of their educational journey.

Funding for the project was made possible by Alana Zagha, who wanted to honor the memory of her late husband and Ranney alumnus, Douglas Zagha. As a special feature that further honors Douglas’s lasting memory, the front entrance features the image of a wise owl carved into the door’s exterior.
