When Bob and Rebecca were downsizing and in the process of moving into their dream coastal home in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The house they chose unfortunately had no garage and very limited storage space in the backyard shed. As an auto-mechanic, Bob needed a dedicated space to store his tools & shop equipment and be able to work on cars out of the elements. The couple envisioned a custom 2-car garage that would not only provide reliable protection, but also blend seamlessly with the classic gambrel architecture of his home.
After considering several local builders, Bob and Rebecca visited our Bellingham Design Center, where they collaborated with a Sales & Design Consultant to bring their vision to life. Together, they planned a Trestle 24×30 Custom two-car garage tailored to both his functional needs and aesthetic goals.
Outdoor Personia handled all the architectural drawings, permitting, and preparing the site for its foundation and structure. The finished design complements the home with a coordinated color palette, decorative vinyl shake siding, and white vinyl garage doors and windows. A raised panel entry door with transom windows adds character, while a rooftop Zephyr Custom Cupola introduces a timeless New England accent that elevates the entire property. Inside, a spacious second-story loft provides valuable storage for tools, equipment, and seasonal items while keeping the main garage floor clear for vehicles and daily use. Four skylights fill the loft with natural light, creating a bright and practical workspace.
The result is a highly functional, custom-built garage that supports Bob’s day-to-day needs while elevating the property’s curb appeal. Bob and Rebecca now enjoy a space that feels like a natural extension of their home – built for coastal durability, everyday convenience, and long-term value.
