A condominium owners association in downtown Westerly, RI, had a problem: their large, shared parking area left residents’ vehicles exposed to the elements, and they wanted to provide each resident with an equal, protected parking space. Just as important, the new structure needed to complement the esthetic character of the historic Martin House property.
Joe and Fred, the condominium association presidents, visited the Outdoor Personia Bellingham Design Center to collaborate on a solution. Through several on-site meetings, we evaluated the property, discussed their goals, and studied an existing carport that had been previously built by another contractor. Replicating that design was an important part of the project.
As a design-and-build company specializing in personalized outdoor structures, we were able to customize a new commercial carport based on the design principles of our custom pavilions while adapting the structure to meet the condominium’s specific parking needs. The result was a cohesive, functional carport solution that provides residents with greater protection for their vehicles while complementing the property’s existing architecture.
