The DaCostas wanted to add shade to and improve the look of their patio. They visited Baystate’s Bellingham Design Center and liked the look and function of the Nantucket Vinyl Pergola with the E-Z Shade. After visiting with them a second time at their home, we discussed how the pergola could be designed to encompass the entire patio.
There were a number of challenges regarding the installation. One of the requirements was that the pergola top needed to be installed at a height several inches above the roofline. Also, the position of posts became critical to avoid blocking windows and doorways along the house as well as a stairway to a lower patio level along the outer edge of the patio. We created a 3-dimensional drawing to allow the DaCostas to have a full visual of the pergola.
While the Installation created some challenges, our customer tells us that the outcome was nothing short of perfection. To accommodate the 40-foot length we provided two E-Z Shades each spanning half of the distance. This allowed for flexibility to set the shades to accommodate the changes in the sun’s angle as the day progressed. And the extra height of the pergola will easily allow for snow removal from the roof of the house.
We love it. It's perfect.
